Identify necessary repairs to restore functional acceptance, which may require the removal and replacement of defective line replaceable modules and/or cabling. Perform maintenance checks on Customer aircraft for various airlines Operate a vehicle on airport property and around aircraft. Operate airline communications equipment. Communicate and interface with customer. Document the testing and repairs using computer and bar-coding equipment. Assist in tracking the spare inventory. Perform other related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management. WHAT IS REQUIRED: HS diploma or GED is required. Airframe & Powerplant License, or a related certificate of equal value is required. Must be able to pass a background and drug screening (marijuana included). Must have a valid driver's license. Shift differentials of $.51 and $.58 cents per hour for working an afternoon or evening shift respectively are paid in addition to the hourly rate. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: We are seeking an Avionics Engineering Technician to plan, design, and test aircraft parts and provide feedback to the manufacturing teams. The selected technician will have responsibility for and should have expertise in the following areas: Ensure compliance with aircraft and missile requirements. Collaborate with other engineers and professionals on developing, producing, testing, and maintaining aircraft. Conduct repairs and installations. Test internal systems and check quality assurance based on understanding of aircraft and computer systems. Analyze new product designs to ensure efficiency and safety. Perform other duties, as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Associate's degree in a related field of study, at least 10 years of relevant experience. A higher-level degree may substitute for experience Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education Ability to understand and interpret complex technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals and/or publications. Instrumentation experience using standard laboratory test equipment, other measurement equipment, hand tools, and power tools. Experience with 3-D CAD software and generating wiring schematics. Basic skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, and wiring installation. Previous experience in a manufacturing environment. Experience pinning/de-pinning connectors, crimping, and chafe protection. Troubleshooting skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Understanding of soldering techniques and/or J-Std certified. Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, NASA, the US Department of Defense or US Military. A&P Certified. Experience with digital or analog circuit analysis.
