This position demands strong decision-making skills, technical knowledge, and leadership ability to optimize performance, streamline workflow, and enhance customer satisfaction. *Key Responsibilities:* *Leadership & Team Development:* * Oversee the daily operations of the Avionics Shop, managing workflow, manpower, and resources. * Recruit, hire, train, and develop employees at various skill levels to ensure high performance and professional growth. * Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide coaching, and facilitate career development opportunities for team members. * Engage employees for feedback on process improvements and implement solutions to enhance productivity. * Establish and maintain a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. *Project & Operations Management:* * Plan and assign manpower to projects, identifying potential risks and implementing recovery strategies as needed. * Ensure all work is performed with a high level of technical precision and in accordance with company policies, regulatory standards, and safety guidelines. * Partner with internal departments to streamline pre-planning, execution, and aircraft delivery. * Provide regular status updates during operational meetings and attend customer briefings as required. * Develop and implement best practices for avionics repair and maintenance, driving efficiency and cost-effectiveness. *Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance:* * Ensure adherence to all Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) guidelines, safety regulations, and quality control procedures. * Maintain documentation, including work orders, repair logs, and compliance reports. * Conduct audits and inspections to uphold the highest quality standards. * Promote a safe work environment by ensuring proper use of PPE, equipment operation, and adherence to safety protocols. *Financial Oversight & Cost Management:* * Monitor labor charges, material purchases, and overall project costs to ensure profitability. * Work closely with the billing department to review and approve final invoices. * Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or quality. * Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning for the Avionics Shop. *Qualifications & Experience:* *Education & Certifications:* * High School Diploma or equivalent required. * Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or an Aviation-related field preferred. * FAA certifications or equivalent industry credentials are a plus. *Experience & Technical Skills:* * 10+ years of *avionics repair experience*, with at least 4 years in a *supervisory or management role.* * Strong understanding of *avionics systems, circuit analysis, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting methodologies.* * Experience with programming *PLC systems and HMI panels* is a plus. * Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, cost accounting software, scheduling tools, and aviation work order systems (e.g., Corridor). * Background in Lean, Six Sigma, and 5S methodologies is highly desirable. * Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under minimal supervision. *Work Environment & Expectations:* * Combination of hangar and office environments, requiring hands-on project oversight. * Frequent walking, bending, squatting, and working around aircraft. * Routine use of computers, phones, and technical software applications. * Must be able to attend work daily as scheduled, including overtime, weekends, and travel as required. * Expected to foster positive relationships with employees, customers, and stakeholders. The following is a list of job duties that an APU LRU (Line Replacement Unit) Technician will perform: Essential Job Functions: Responsible for the disassembly, cleaning, analytical inspection, repair schemes, painting, assembly, testing and travelers related to LRUs, components, parts and tools.
