Assists Junior Avionics Wiring Technicians in these efforts. * Demonstrates proficiency of work order system by completing accurate and timely discrepancies and corrective action statements. Assists Junior Avionics Wiring Technicians in these efforts. * Willingly and effectively shares knowledge and capabilities with less experienced technicians through OJT to foster their development, ensure accurate work, and support of the team’s goals. The CBP Aircraft Mechanic maintains repairs and modifies aircraft structures and structural components of moderate difficulty, maintains and repairs aircraft components including but not limited to flight controls, engines, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel systems, and mechanical components. Principal Accountabilities: Apply technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems in determining equipment malfunctions and applies required expertise in restoring equipment condition and or operation and applies comprehensive technical expertise to solve moderate to complex problems by interpreting technical documentation such as blueprints or manufactures’ manuals. Perform daily, flight line and hangar maintenance on all assigned aircraft. Perform inspections, corrosion control, troubleshooting and fault isolation on aircraft systems. Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds to load and unload storage, lavatories, and special equipment. Must be able to stretch, bend, walk, and climb to clean aircraft. Must be able to work in varying temperatures and inclement weather conditions. Must have excellent vision and coordination to move or direct aircraft within the hangars. Preferred Characteristics: Must be courteous, tactful, and friendly as there is considerable contact with customers, employees, and company visitors. Strong communication skills required, both verbal and written. Must have good interpersonal and verbal skills in order to interface with customers and employees. Must have knowledge of safety practices in handling highly combustible and explosive fuels.
