Job Overview
If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Work Schedule
- Hours: 14 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Peak Times: Monday through Sunday, 4:30 a.m. – 6 a.m.
- Specific shifts are assigned after training and subject to periodic adjustments.
- Note: No flexibility for personal commitments or schedules.
Employment Requirements
- Tour of Duty: 25 hours per week
- Shifts: Five (5) days with five (5) hours a day during morning and afternoon shifts.
- TSA employees are expected to report during inclement weather.

Travel and Training Requirements
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of required training, including a minimum of three (3) weeks of travel in a full-time duty status for the New Hire training.
- Compensation for travel hours and authorized expenses as per TSA policy.
Dress Code
Uniforms are provided. There are restrictions on accessories and grooming while in uniform.
