Transportation Security Officer Job Overview
Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Airport: Kearney Regional Airport, Kearney, NE
- Flight Schedule: Open 7 days per week.
- Operational Hours:
- Sunday, Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 5:00 AM - 10:00 AM and 12:30 PM - 3:30 PM
- Tuesday and Wednesday: 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM
- Screening operations are located inside the terminal and are temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
TSO work schedules may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Specific shifts are assigned after training and may change to meet operational needs.
Part-Time Positions
Current assessment for part-time positions. Employee schedules can range from 16-32 hours, up to 5 days per week.
Sign-On Bonus
This location is not offering a sign-on bonus at this time.

Travel and Training Requirements
- Employment contingent upon completing training.
- Up to six weeks of full-time duty status travel may be required.
