Job Overview: Transportation Security Officer (TSO)
Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you successfully complete the TSO candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Maintains three daily schedules:
- Monday to Friday: 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.
- Saturday: 8 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
- Sunday: 2:20 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- Screening operations are located inside the terminal and may or may not be temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Due to the nature of the job, virtually no flexibility is offered to accommodate personal commitments or schedules.
Current part-time shifts are available, totaling 20 hours per week, with three to five (3-5) days of four to eight (4-8) hours per day.

Sign-On Bonus
The TSA is currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 for this duty location, paid out in two installments during the first 12 months of service.

- Onsite parking is available for TSA employees free of charge.
- Public transportation to the airport is by limited bus routes or taxi. Subsidies for transportation are not offered.

Dress Code
TSO uniforms are provided. There are restrictions on certain accessories and grooming while in uniform.
Travel and Training
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing required classroom and on-the-job training. A minimum of three (3) weeks of travel may be required.
