OVERVIEW: Global Crossing Airlines (GlobalX) is looking to hire an experienced Aircraft Maintenance Controller to help us perform inspections as required by the FAA in a FAR 145 environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan, organize, direct, coordinate, control and influence a multi-functional organization for Maintenance Control to ensure activities are accomplished in accordance with company policies, FARs, company and OEM Maintenance Programs and other governmental regulations Coordinate and administer timely ordering and shipment of aircraft parts and equipment to support out of service aircraft Has authority to remove any aircraft from operational service for reasons of safety or issues with the maintenance program Monitor aircraft status, taking appropriate action when maintenance problems arise or when it is anticipated that daily operations will be affected Coordinate with Dispatchers concerning MCC/OCC issues and maintenance problems that affect releasing of aircraft Ensure maintenance assigned the correct checks for the overnight aircraft and coordinates with Dispatchers on the checks required during day operations Monitor, report and maintain TRAX software for company maintenance operations Monitor and control all Maintenance Reliability Reports provided by MCC personnel and equipment SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Prior experience on the following airframes: A320 and A321 Experience with TRAX software a plus Communication proficiency Mechanical capacity Leadership Teamwork oriented Thoroughness Time Management WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The Avionics Technician must perform a variety of installation and maintenance tasks on avionics hardware and wiring assemblies. The Avionics Technician must work within estimated time and in accordance with applicable HAECO Airframe Services, FAA, and customer standards of quality. • Perform such typical maintenance functions as cabling, component removal/installation, wire harness removal/installation, fabrication/repair of wire harness assemblies, and continuity checks. • Determine if work can safely be accomplished if aircraft is in a power-on mode and be able to conduct necessary testing if in a power-on mode. • Fabricate and install all wiring assemblies and associated mechanical equipment. • Remove and install avionics systems. • Follow all applicable specifications to accomplish a specific task. • Follow Customer aircraft maintenance documentation programs. • Followwiring diagrams, engineering drawings, Illustrated Parts Catalog, ATA Codes, Service Bulletins and Maintenance Manuals. • Read electrical schematics and use them to troubleshoot and repair aircraft avionics systems. • Maintain a clean and safe working environment. • Be familiar with ESD processes and requirements • Be aware of EWIS requirements • Must efficiently perform tasks. • Follow all safety procedures and specifications with appropriate PPE. • Execute all required paperwork as work is being completed in connection with assigned normal duties. • Use and operate ground support equipment, as applicable and if qualified, in a safe manner. • Complete assignments with little or no rework. • Act as a mentor and help train less experienced avionics technicians. • Interface effectively with members of management, other departments, and co-workers. • Perform other work as instructed by the Avionics Lead or Maintenance Supervisor, if qualified. What you need: (Requirements) • High School diploma or equivalent. • Must provide own tools as indicated on company tool list. • Language (read, write, speak, and understand English). • Eighteen (18) months or more of experience troubleshooting and effecting Avionics repairs on Military, Commercial transport aircraft or two (2) or more years proven performance competence within HAECO. • Subject to noise more than 85 dbs. • Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, and/or stand for prolonged periods of time and climb ladders and/or service stands. • May be exposed to hazardous chemicals and requires the use of all safety equipment. • Must be able to breathe through a full-face respirator. Employees with facial hair will be required to purchase a hood to meet respirator requirements. • Job requires participation in the DOT random drug and alcohol testing program. • Normal or corrected hearing. • Capable of lifting fifty (50) pounds. • Minimum visual acuity of 20/40 corrected. Preferred • FAA Airframe and Powerplant or FAA Airframe certificate. • FCC License.
