Job Overview: Transportation Security Officer (TSO)

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as Transportation Security Officers (TSOs). As a TSO, you will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission by upholding security measures at Lihue Airport (LIH).

Local Airport Details

• Location: Lihue Airport, Lihue, HI
• Flight Schedule: 18 hours a day, seven days a week
• Peak Times:
  • 8 a.m. – 10 a.m.
  • 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Work Schedules

• TSO work schedules depend on the airport needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Flexibility may be limited due to the nature of the job.
• Specific shifts will be assigned after training and may change based on operational needs.

Position Types

• Full-Time: 40 hours per week
• Part-Time: 20 hours per week (4-5 days with 5-8 hours per day)

Sign-On Bonus

Up to $10,000 sign-on bonus available, paid in two installments during the first 12 months of service. (Subject to change)

Promotional Potential

TSOs have the opportunity for a salary increase of up to 67% over five years, along with federal-wide pay increases.

• Onsite parking available for $28.00 per month.
• Limited public transportation options with subsidies offered.
