*Job Description*
We are seeking a skilled Licensed Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic to join our team in Lihue, HI. As an A&P Mechanic, you will maintain and repair our fixed-wing fleet (GA-8 Airvan, Cessna 182, and YMF-5 Biplane), ensuring compliance with FAA regulations and the highest safety standards. Your expertise will support our mission to provide exceptional aerial tours over Kauai’s breathtaking scenery.
*Key Responsibilities*
* Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on GA-8 Airvan, Cessna 182, and YMF-5 Biplane aircraft, including airframe, powerplant, and avionics systems.
* Conduct inspections, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, and repair or replace components as needed.
* Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals, and service bulletins.
* Return aircraft to service after maintenance, signing off on work in accordance with FAA privileges and company procedures.
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation using our systems.
* Collaborate with pilots and ground crew to ensure seamless tour operations and aircraft readiness.
* Uphold safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment at our Lihue Airport facility.
* Provide own hand tools; specialty tools will be provided.
*Qualifications*
* Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required.
* Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as an A&P Mechanic, with expertise in fixed-wing aircraft (experience with GA-8 Airvan, Cessna 182, or biplanes like YMF-5 preferred).
* Strong knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and repair procedures.
* Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and technical drawings.
* Valid driver’s license and ability to meet airport authority requirements for access and vehicle operation.
* Detail-oriented with a commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays to support tour schedules (typically 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM).
