Transportation Security Officer Job Overview
Thank you for your interest in employment with the TSA. If selected as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Location: Middle Georgia Regional Airport, Macon, GA
- Schedule: 10 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Peak times: Monday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
- Screening operations may or may not be temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Specific shifts are assigned after training and may be adjusted to meet operational needs. TSA employees must report for duty during inclement weather.
Current Opportunity: Assessing candidates for a 20-hour per week tour of duty, four to five days with four to five hours per day during morning, afternoon, and evening shifts.

Travel and Training Requirements
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing required training, which may include three to six weeks of travel away from your airport of record.
Dress Code
TSO uniforms are provided, with restrictions on certain accessories and grooming while in uniform.
