Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Airport Location: Piedmont Triad International Airport, Greensboro, NC
• Flight Schedule: 7 days per week with hours between 4 a.m. – 8:30 p.m.
• Peak Times:
  • Monday through Sunday: 5 a.m. – 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Work Schedules

TSOs may work non-traditional shifts, including weekends and holidays. Specific shifts are assigned after new hires complete training and may be adjusted based on operational needs.

Part-Time Positions

• Hours: 25 hours per week, five days consisting of five hours each day.
• Shifts: Morning and afternoon shifts.

Promotional Potential

Under the career ladder system for TSOs, new officers have a path to achieve up to a 67% increase from the starting base salary over 5 years, in addition to any federal pay increases or locality adjustments.

Commuter Details

• Onsite parking for TSA employees at $100 per year.
• Public transportation to the airport is not available; subsidies for transportation are not offered.
