Position: Transportation Security Officer (TSO)

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Location: Sarasota Bradenton International Airport (SRQ), Sarasota, FL

Local Airport Details:

• Maintains a 15 hours a day, seven days per week flight schedule.
• Peak times are Monday through Sunday:
  • 5 a.m. – 8 a.m.
  • 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
  • 3:30 p.m. – 5 p.m.
• Screening operations are located inside the terminal and may or may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• TSO work schedules are based on operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Limited flexibility is offered to accommodate personal commitments.

Current Openings

Part-Time Positions Available:

• 25 hours per week
• Five (5) days of five (5) hours per day
• Current part-time shifts: morning and afternoon

Sign-On Bonus

Currently, this location is not offering a sign-on bonus.

Commuter Details

• Onsite parking available for TSA employees for $60.00, paid every 6 months.
• Public transportation to the airport is available; however, subsidies for transportation are not offered at SRQ.

Promotional Potential

Under the career ladder system for TSOs, new officers may achieve up to a 67% increase from the starting base salary over five years.
