Transportation Security Officer Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in a career with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Airport: Melbourne Orlando International Airport (MLB), Melbourne, FL
• Flight Schedule: 20 hours a day, seven days a week
• Peak Times:
  • 4 a.m. – 7 a.m.
  • 9 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
  • 2 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Screening Operations: Located inside the terminal, temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• Shift Requirements: Based on the operational needs of the airport—may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Notice: No flexibility for personal commitments due to the nature of the job.

Current Opportunities

• Part-Time Shifts: 20 hours per week, four days at five hours per day (available in morning, afternoon, and evening hours).

Sign-On Bonus

No sign-on bonus is available at this time.

Commuter Details

• Parking: Onsite parking available for TSA employees at no charge.
• Public Transport: Available to the airport; no transportation subsidies offered at MLB.
