Position: Transportation Security Officer (TSO)
Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). As a TSO, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Location: Santa Fe Regional Airport, Santa Fe, NM
- Main flight schedule: Seven days per week.
- Flights departing between 6 a.m. – 5:15 p.m.
- Screening operations located inside the terminal; temperature-controlled conditions may vary.
Work Schedules
- TSO work schedules are based on operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Specific shifts assigned after training; limited flexibility for personal commitments.
- TSA employees are emergency personnel and must report for duty during inclement weather.
Part-Time Positions
32 hours consisting of four (4) or five (5) workdays with eight (8) to ten (10) hours per day during morning and afternoon shifts.

Promotional Potential
Under the career ladder system for TSOs, new officers have a path to increase their base salary up to 67% over 5 years, in addition to federal-wide pay increases.
Sign-On Bonus
This location is not offering a sign-on bonus at this time.
Recruitment Incentive amount is subject to change and will be determined at the time of the final job offer.
Commuter Details
- Onsite parking is available for TSA employees free of charge.
- Public transportation to the airport is not available.
- Subsidies for transportation are not offered at SAF.

Travel and Training Requirements
Employment with TSA is contingent upon successfully completing required training. This may require up to six (6) weeks of full-time duty status travel. Employees will be reimbursed for authorized travel expenses per TSA Travel Policy.
Dress Code
TSO uniforms are provided, with restrictions on certain accessories and grooming while in uniform.
