Transportation Security Officer Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with TSA. As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Location: Hagerstown Regional Airport, Hagerstown, MD
• Flight Schedule: Seven (7) days per week, 4 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Peak Times:
  • Monday to Sunday: 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
  • 4 p.m. – 6 p.m.
• Screening operations are located inside the terminal and may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Specific shifts are assigned after successful completion of training and are subject to adjustments based on operational needs.

• Part-Time Positions: 20 hours per week, four (4) days of five (5) hours each, including weekends and holidays.

Travel and Training Requirements

Employment is contingent on successfully completing required classroom and on-the-job training. This may include a minimum of three (3) weeks of travel in a full-time duty status.
