Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission. This fact sheet highlights some of the unique operational requirements and compensation plan.

Local Airport Details

• Maintains a seven days per week flight schedule, operating from 5 a.m. – 1 p.m.
• Opportunities to earn Sunday, holiday, night, and split shift premiums.
• Screening operations are located inside the terminal and may or may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Specific shifts are assigned post-training and are subject to periodic adjustments. TSA employees are considered emergency personnel and expected to report for duty during inclement weather.

Part-Time Positions Available:
20 hours per week (Five days of four hours each)

Compensation

Sign-On Bonus: Currently not offering a sign-on bonus.

Promotional Potential

Under the career ladder system for TSOs, new officers can achieve up to a 67% increase from the starting base salary over 5 years, in addition to federal-wide pay changes.

• Onsite parking available for TSA employees at $28.00 per month plus a one-time fee of $15.00 for an access card.
• Public transportation to the airport is available.
