Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the TSA. If selected as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Screening operations are located inside and outside the terminal and may or may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport, including non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Specific shifts are assigned after training and may change to meet operational needs.

Part-Time Position

• Currently assessing candidates for part-time positions of 20 hours per week, including five workdays of four-hour shifts. Schedules may include early morning or late night hours.

Sign-On Bonus

This location is not offering a sign-on bonus at this time.

Promotional Potential

New officers can achieve a path to up to a 67% increase from the starting base salary over 5 years, not including federal-wide pay increases.

Travel and Training Requirements

Employment is contingent upon completing required training, which may involve up to six weeks of full-time duty status travel, away from your airport of record.

Dress Code

TSO uniforms are provided; specific grooming and accessory restrictions apply.

Active Duty Military

Must be discharged or on terminal leave prior to employment with TSA.
