Transportation Security Officer Job Overview
We are currently seeking candidates for the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) positions at Nantucket Memorial Airport, Nantucket, MA. Successful candidates will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Summer Peak Months: 5 a.m. - 9 p.m.
- Non-Summer Months: 5:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
- Screening operations are located inside the terminal and may or may not be temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. The specific shifts are assigned after training completion and may adjust periodically.
Current Positions Available
- Full-Time and Part-Time Positions
- 10 hours per day, 4 days per week (40 hours)
- 8 hours per day, 5 days per week
Sign-On Bonus
TSA is currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for this duty location, paid out in two installments during your first 12 months of service.

Commuter Details
Please note that maritime travel to and from Nantucket Island is generally not available during the required reporting times.

Travel and Training Requirements
Employment is contingent on successfully completing classroom and on-the-job training, which may require travel. Specific training requirements may vary by location.
