Job Overview: Transportation Security Officer (TSO)
Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you successfully complete the TSO candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Airport: Laredo International Airport, Laredo, TX
- Flight Schedule: 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
- Peak Times:
- Monday through Sunday:
- 4 a.m. – 11 a.m.
- 5 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Monday through Sunday:
Work Schedules
TSO work schedules are based on operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Due to the nature of the job, virtually no flexibility is offered to accommodate personal commitments. Specific shifts are assigned after training and are subject to periodic adjustments.
Part-Time Positions
- Hours: 20 hours per week
- Schedule: Four (4) days of five (5) hours per day, which may include split shifts.

Travel and Training Requirements
Successful candidates must complete required training, which may require up to six weeks of travel away from the airport of record. Employees will be paid for compensable hours and reimbursed for authorized travel expenses.
Dress Code
Uniforms are provided, and there are grooming restrictions while in uniform.
