Job Overview

As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Maintains a seven (7) days per week flight schedule with up to 6 departures per day.
• Operational times: Sunday through Saturday, 6 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Screening operations are located inside the terminal and are temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• TSO work schedules are based on airport operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Specific shifts assigned after training completion; subject to adjustments.
• TSA employees report for duty during inclement weather regardless of state/local travel restrictions.

Part-time Positions Available

• 20 hours per week; two (2) days of ten (10) hours or a combination of ten (10) hour and five (5) hour shifts per week.
• Split shift scheduling may be required occasionally.

Sign-On Bonus

The Transportation Security Administration is currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $5,000 for this duty location, paid in two installments during the first 12 months of service.

Commuter Details

• Onsite parking is available for TSA employees at no cost.
• Public transportation to the airport is not available.
• Transportation subsidies are not offered at RKD.

Travel and Training Requirements

• Conditional upon successfully completing required classroom and on-the-job training.
• Up to six (6) weeks of travel may be required for training.

Dress Code

TSO uniforms are provided, with specific restrictions on accessories and grooming while in uniform.

Active Duty Military:
Must be discharged or on terminal leave pending separation prior to beginning TSA employment.
