Transportation Security Officer Job Overview
Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Maintains a 24/7 flight schedule.
- Peak times: Monday through Sunday, 4 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Screening operations may or may not be temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Due to job nature, virtually no flexibility is offered. Specific shifts are assigned after training and are subject to adjustments.
Available Positions
We are currently assessing candidates for full-time and part-time positions:
- Full Time: 40 hours per week (Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts).
- Part Time: 20 hours per week (Four days of five hours per day; Morning, afternoon, or flex shifts).
Location: Atlantic City International Airport, Atlantic City, NJ

Travel and Training Requirements
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing required training. Expect a minimum of three weeks of travel for training, which may require up to six weeks in total.

TSO uniforms are provided, and there are restrictions on certain accessories and grooming while in uniform.
