Transportation Security Officer Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the TSA. As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will support the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission after successfully completing the candidate evaluation process.

Local Airport Details

• Location: Vero Beach Regional Airport, Vero Beach, FL
• Flight Schedule: 20 hours, seven days a week
• Peak Times:
  • Monday through Sunday: 4 a.m. – 7 a.m., 9 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., 2 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
• Screening Operations: Inside the terminal and temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• TSO schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport, including non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• No flexibility for personal commitments; specific shifts assigned post-training and subject to adjustments to meet operational needs.
• Part-Time Position: 16-20 hours/week, four to five days of four hours each.

Compensation

• Sign-On Bonus: Not currently offered; recruitment incentive amount subject to change.

Commuter Details

• Free onsite parking for TSA employees.
• Public transportation available; no transportation subsidies offered at VRB.
