Transportation Security Officer Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the TSA. If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Location: Sioux Gateway Airport, Sioux City, IA
• Schedule: 8.5 hour day, 7 days a week
• Peak times: 5:30 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
• Screening operations for passengers and baggage are located inside the terminal and may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• TSO work schedules are based on operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Part-Time Positions:
• Tour of duty: 20-25 hours per week
• Four (4) or five (5) workdays with 4 or 5 hours per day
• Includes weekends, holidays, and split shift scheduling.
