Transportation Security Officer Job Overview

We appreciate your interest in joining the TSA as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO). If selected, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Location: Topeka Regional Airport, Topeka, KS
• Flight Operations: Varied based on passenger service demands.
• Screening Operations: Located inside the terminal, may not be temperature-controlled.

Work Schedules

TSO schedules are based on operational needs, including non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Flexibility is limited, and specific shifts are assigned after training completion.

Travel and Training Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing classroom and on-the-job training, which may require up to six (6) weeks of full-time duty status travel.

Dress Code

Uniforms are provided. Specific guidelines regarding accessories and grooming while in uniform apply.
