Transportation Security Officer Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you successfully complete the TSO candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Location: Chippewa Valley Regional Airport, Eau Claire, WI
• Flight Schedule: Seven (7) days per week, between 4:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
• Screening Operations: Located inside the terminal and may or may not be temperature controlled. Hours of operation may be subject to change.

Work Schedules

TSO work schedules are based on operational needs and may include:

• Non-traditional shifts
• Weekends and holidays
• Limited flexibility to accommodate personal commitments

Shifts for part-time positions:
20 hours per week, variable hours including irregular shifts and early mornings.

Promotional Potential

New officers have a potential to reach up to a 67% increase from the starting base salary over 5 years.

Commuter Details

• Onsite parking is available for TSA employees free of charge.
• Public transportation to the airport is not available.
• Subsidies for transportation are not offered at EAU.
