Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the TSA. If you are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Location: Bishop Airport (BIH), Bishop, CA
• Maintains a seven days per week flight schedule.
• Peak times are Thursday through Monday: 12 pm – 2:30 pm.
• Screening operations are located inside the terminal and may or may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Specific shifts are assigned after completing training and are subject to periodic adjustments.
• TSA employees are considered emergency personnel and are expected to report for duty during inclement weather.

Available Positions

• Full-time and part-time positions (20-40 hours per week).
• Shifts: five days of four to eight hours per day. Morning, afternoon, and evening shifts available.

Sign-On Bonus

The TSA is currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $20,000 for this duty location, paid out in two installments during the first 12 months of service. *(Amount subject to change at the time of final job offer.)*

Commuter Details

• Onsite parking available for TSA employees at no charge.
• Limited public transportation options to the airport.
• Transportation subsidies are not offered at BIH.

Promotional Potential

New officers can increase their base salary by up to 67% over 5 years, in addition to federal-wide pay increases or changes to locality pay.

• Dress Code: TSO uniforms provided with restrictions on accessories and grooming.
• Active Duty Military: Must be discharged or on terminal leave before beginning employment with TSA.
