Transportation Security Officer Job Overview
Join our team as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO) and play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission. As a TSO, you will help deliver critical security measures at the airport.
Local Airport Details:
- Location: HVN Tweed - New Haven Airport, New Haven, CT
- Flight Schedule: 24 hours a day, seven days per week
- Peak Times:
- Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and Monday Mornings: 4 a.m. – 8 a.m.
- Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday Afternoons: 1:30 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
- Working Conditions: Screening operations may be inside or outside the terminal and can vary in temperature control.
Work Schedules
- TSOs work schedules are based on airport operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Part-Time Positions Available: 25 hours per week; five days at five hours per day with morning and evening shifts.
Compensation
Currently, there is no sign-on bonus offered for this location. Recruitment incentive amounts are subject to change at the time of the final job offer.

Travel and Training Requirements
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing required classroom and on-the-job training. This may involve travel for up to six weeks of full-time duty status. Employees will be compensated for hours worked and travel expenses.

TSO uniforms are provided, and there are specific guidelines regarding accessories and grooming while in uniform.
