Transportation Security Officer Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with TSA. If selected for the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) position, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Airport (PKB)
Location: Parkersburg, WV
Maintains a seven days per week flight schedule:

• Operational Hours:
  • Mon-Fri: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
  • Sat: 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Sun: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Work Shifts: AM and PM shifts available.

Work Schedules

Work schedules are based on operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Specific shifts are assigned after training and may be adjusted based on operational changes. TSA employees are considered emergency personnel and must report for duty during inclement weather.

Employment Opportunities

PKB is currently hiring for part-time positions:

• Part-Time Requirements:
  • 25 hours per week
  • Two to ten hours per day for five days
  • May include irregular hours, nights, and weekends.

Note: There is currently no sign-on bonus available.

Commuter Details

• Onsite parking is available for TSA employees, free of charge.
• Public transportation to the airport is not provided, and transportation subsidies are not offered.

Promotional Potential

New officers can achieve up to a 67% salary increase over five years, plus federal-wide pay increases.

Travel and Training Requirements

Employment is contingent on successful completion of training, which may require travel in a full-time duty status. Training duration can vary, and employees will be reimbursed for authorized travel expenses.

Dress Code

Uniforms are provided, with restrictions on certain accessories and grooming while in uniform.
