Job Overview
Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Maintains a 24/7 flight schedule
- Peak times: Monday through Sunday, 3:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.
- Screening operations located inside and outside the terminal, may or may not be temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Specific shifts are assigned post-training and may adjust to operational needs. TSA employees are considered emergency personnel and are expected to report for duty during inclement weather.
Employment Types
- Full-time positions: 40 hours per week
- Part-time positions: 20 hours per week (4-5 workdays, 5 hours per shift)
- No overnight or split shifts.

TSOs can reach up to a 67% increase from the starting base salary over 5 years.
