Transportation Security Officer Job Overview
Thank you for your interest in joining the TSA as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO). If selected, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Location: Billings Logan International Airport, Billings, MT
- Flight Schedule: 18 hours a day, seven days a week
- Peak Times:
- Monday through Sunday: 4:30 a.m. – 6:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Screening Operations: Located inside the terminal; temperature-controlled environments may vary.
Work Schedules
TSO work schedules are based on operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Expected Commitment: 25-40 hours per week; five days of five hours each, with two consecutive days off. This may include irregular hours, nights, holidays, weekend shifts, changing shifts, and split shifts.
Sign-On Bonus
This location is not offering a sign-on bonus at this time. Recruitment incentives are subject to change.
Commuter Details
- Onsite parking is available free of charge for TSA employees.
- Public transportation is not available, and transportation subsidies are not offered.

Travel and Training Requirements
If hired, you must complete required classroom and on-the-job training, which may include up to three weeks of travel. This training will occur away from your airport of record.
