Transportation Security Officer (TSO) Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you successfully complete the TSO candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Maintains a seven days per week flight schedule.
• Operational hours: 5 a.m. – 1 a.m. the following day.
• Opportunities to earn Sunday, holiday, night, and split shift premiums.
• Screening operations may or may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Specific shifts are assigned post-training and are subject to change.
• TSA employees are considered emergency personnel and must report for duty during inclement weather.

Current Positions Available:

• Full-time: Split shift schedule (approximately two 4-hour shifts).
• Part-time: Five days of 4 hours each, totaling 20 hours per week.

Location: Kahului Airport, Kahului, HI

Sign-On Bonus

Currently, this location is not offering a sign-on bonus.

Commuter Details

• Onsite parking for TSA employees: $28.00 per month plus a one-time $15.00 access card fee.
• Public transportation to the airport is available, but subsidies for transportation are not offered.

Promotional Potential: Up to a 67% increase from the starting base salary over 5 years.

Dress Code

TSO uniforms are provided, and there are specific restrictions on accessories and grooming while in uniform.
