Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). By becoming a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will support the vital mission of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS).

Local Airport Details

• Flight Schedule: 8 hours per day, 7 days per week
• Peak Times: Sunday to Saturday, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
• Screening operations are located inside the terminal, potentially without temperature control.

Work Schedules

• TSO work schedules are based on the airport's operational needs, including non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Specific shifts are assigned after successful training completion and are subject to change.
• TSA employees are considered emergency personnel required to report during inclement weather.

Positions Available

• Full-time: 40 hours per week (5 workdays; 8-hour shifts)
• Part-time: 25 hours per week (5 workdays; 5-hour shifts)

Sign-On Bonus

Up to $10,000 for this duty location, paid in two installments within the first 12 months of service. Incentive amounts may change.

Commuter Details

• Onsite parking available at no charge for TSA employees.
• No public transportation to the airport; transportation subsidies are not offered.

Promotional Potential

Dress Code

TSO uniforms are provided. Restrictions apply to accessories and grooming while in uniform.

Travel and Training Requirements

Employment is contingent upon successfully completing classroom and on-the-job training, which may require up to six weeks of travel away from your airport of record.
