Job Overview: Transportation Security Officer (TSO)
Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you successfully complete the TSO candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Location: Rapid City Regional Airport, Rapid City, SD
- Maintains a 12-20 hours a day, seven days per week flight schedule.
- Peak times:
- 5 a.m. – 7 a.m.
- 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- 7 p.m. – 9 p.m.
- Screening operations may or may not be temperature controlled, and operations are seasonal.
Work Schedules
- TSO work schedules are based on operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Specific shifts are assigned after training and are subject to adjustments.
- TSA employees are considered emergency personnel and must report for duty during inclement weather.
Current Part-Time Positions
- 20-30 hours per week
- Shifts: four (4) to five (5) shifts per week, each lasting four (4) to eight (8) hours.
- Current shifts: morning and afternoon.
Sign-On Bonus
This location is not offering a sign-on bonus at this time.
Commuter Details
- Onsite parking available for $10.00 per month.
- Public transportation is not available, and transportation subsidies are not offered.
