Job Overview

As a Transportation Security Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Maintains an 18-hour, seven days per week flight schedule.
• Peak times are:
  • Monday through Sunday:
    • 5 a.m. – 6 a.m.
    • 9:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.
    • 4 p.m. – 5 p.m.
• Screening operations are located inside the terminal, which may or may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• Shifts may include non-traditional hours, weekends, and holidays.
• No flexibility is offered for personal commitments or schedules. Specific shifts are assigned post-training and subject to change based on operational needs.
• TSA employees are considered emergency personnel and are expected to report for duty during inclement weather.

Shifts Available

• Part-Time Positions:
  • 25 hours per week.
  • Five (5) days of four (4) hours or four (4) days of five (5) hours.

Compensation

Sign-On Bonus: Not available at this time.

Promotional Potential

New officers have the potential to increase their base salary by up to 67% over five years, alongside any federal-wide pay increases.

• Commuter Information: Onsite parking is available at no charge. Public transportation to the airport is not available.
• Travel and Training Requirements: Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required training, which may involve travel.

Dress Code

TSA uniforms are provided, with certain restrictions on accessories and grooming while in uniform.
