Transportation Security Officer Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the TSA. As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will play a crucial role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Location: Kodiak Benny Benson State Airport, Kodiak, AK
• Flight Schedule: 10 hours per day, 7 days per week
• Peak Times:
  • Sunday through Friday: 7:30 a.m. – 9 a.m., 2:30 p.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Saturday: 7 a.m. – 8:30 a.m.
• Screening operations located inside the terminal may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

TSO schedules are based on operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Expect minimal flexibility for personal commitments. New hires will have specific shifts assigned post-training, subject to adjustments based on operational needs.

Currently Hiring

• Position: Full-time split-shift positions
• Hours: 40 hrs. per week, 4 or 5 workdays with shifts ranging from 8 to 9.25 hours per day.

• Sign-On Bonus: Up to $15,000 for this location, paid out in two installments within the first 12 months of service.
