Position: Transportation Security Officer
Thank you for your interest in employment with the TSA. If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Airport: South Bend International Airport (SBN), South Bend, IN
- Flight Schedule: 17 hours a day, seven days per week
- Peak Times: Varies from Monday through Sunday
- Screening Operations: Located inside the terminal, may or may not be temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Due to the nature of the job, virtually no flexibility is offered to accommodate personal commitments or schedules. Specific shifts are assigned after successful completion of training and are subject to periodic adjustments.
Part-Time Positions
SBN is currently assessing candidates for part-time positions:
- Hours: 20 hours per week
- Shifts: Four (4) to five (5) hours per day depending on operational needs.
Sign-On Bonus
This location is not offering a sign-on bonus at this time. Recruitment incentive amounts are subject to change and will be determined at the time of the final job offer.
Commuter Details
- Onsite Parking: Available for TSA employees at no charge.
- Public Transportation: Not available.
- Transportation Subsidies: Not offered.

Dress Code
