Transportation Security Officer Job Overview
We are currently seeking candidates for the role of Transportation Security Officer (TSO). If selected, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Location: Four Corners Regional Airport, Farmington, NM
- Flight Schedule: Seven days a week, 6:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Peak Times: Sunday through Saturday, early morning and early afternoon
- Screening Operations: Located inside the terminal, may not be temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Shifts: Specific shifts are assigned post-training and are subject to change.
- Weather: TSA employees are considered emergency personnel and must report for duty during inclement weather regardless of travel restrictions.
We are currently assessing candidates for part-time positions:
- Up to 30 hours per week
- Four to five hour workdays, with morning and afternoon shifts
Sign-On Bonus
Currently, there is no sign-on bonus available for this location. Recruitment incentive amounts are subject to change.
Commuter Details
- Onsite parking is available for TSA employees free of charge.
- Public transportation to the airport is not available, and subsidies for transportation are not offered at FMN.

TSOs have a career ladder system that allows for a potential salary increase of up to 67% over 5 years, in addition to any federal-wide pay increases.
Travel and Training Requirements
Employment with TSA is contingent upon successfully completing required training. A minimum of three weeks of travel in a full-time duty status may be required. New Hire training can vary by location and may require up to six weeks of travel.
Dress Code
Uniforms are provided, and there are restrictions on specific accessories and grooming standards while in uniform.
