Transportation Security Officer Job Overview
Thank you for your interest in employment with TSA. If selected as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Location: Martha's Vineyard Airport, Vineyard Haven, MA
- Schedule: 15 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Peak Times: Monday through Sunday (varies)
- Work Environment: Screening operations are located inside the terminal and may be temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
- TSO schedules are based on airport operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Specific shifts are assigned post-training and are subject to adjustments.
- TSA employees are emergency personnel and must report for duty during inclement weather.
Current Requirements
- Tour of Duty: 40 hours a week - Four (4) days at ten (10) hours per day or five (5) days at eight (8) hours per day.
Sign-On Bonus
TSA is currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000, paid in two installments during the first 12 months of service. Recruitment Incentive amount is subject to change and will be determined at the time of final job offer.

Travel and Training Requirements
Employment is contingent upon successfully completing required training, which may include three to six weeks of full-time duty status travel away from the employee's airport of record.

TSO uniforms are provided, with specific restrictions on accessories and grooming while in uniform.
