Position: Transportation Security Officer (TSO)

Thank you for your interest in joining the TSA as a Transportation Security Officer (TSO). By successfully completing our candidate evaluation process and being selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Work Hours

• Local Airport Operations: Maintained 24/7 schedule
• Peak Times: Monday through Sunday:
  • 6 a.m. – 9 a.m.
  • 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
• Screener operations may be located inside temperature-controlled areas or not.

Work Schedule

• Schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport, including non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Minimal flexibility to accommodate personal commitments.
• Specific shifts assigned after training with periodic adjustments.

Current Opportunities

• Part-Time Positions:
  • 20 hours per week
  • Morning and afternoon shifts
  • 5 to 8 hours per day depending on operational needs.

Compensation

Sign-On Bonus: Up to $5,000 (paid in two installments during the first 12 months of service). (Note: Recruitment Incentive amount is subject to change.)

New TSOs have a path to increase their base salary by up to 67% within 5 years, alongside any federal-wide pay adjustments.

Transportation Details

• Onsite Parking: Available at no charge for TSA employees.
• Public Transport: Not available; no subsidies offered.

Important Notes

• This position requires the completion of all required training, which may include travel for up to six weeks.
• TSA uniforms will be provided, and certain restrictions on accessories and grooming apply while in uniform.
