Transportation Security Officer Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with TSA. If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Location: Laughlin/Bullhead International Airport, Bullhead City, AZ
• Maintains a 9-hour a day, 7 days a week schedule.
• Peak times vary from Monday through Sunday.
• Screening operations may or may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Due to the nature of the job, virtually no flexibility is offered for personal commitments. Specific shifts are assigned after new hires complete their training and are subject to periodic adjustments.

Part-Time Positions

• 25 hours per week tour of duty.
• Shifts: Four (4) to five (5) days with five (5) to six (6) hours during morning and afternoon shifts.

Sign-On Bonus

This location is not offering a sign-on bonus at this time. Recruitment Incentive amounts are subject to change.

Commuter Details

• Onsite parking is available for TSA employees at no charge.
• Public transportation is not available.
• Transportation subsidies are not offered.

Promotional Potential

New officers have a path to reach up to a 67% salary increase over 5 years, in addition to any federal-wide pay increases.

Dress Code

TSO uniforms are provided. There are restrictions on certain accessories and grooming while in uniform.

Travel and Training Requirements

If hired, your employment will be contingent upon successfully completing required training. This may require up to six (6) weeks of full-time duty status travel away from your airport of record.
