Job Overview
As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will play a crucial role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission. This position requires a commitment to operational excellence in a challenging environment.
Local Airport Details
- Operating Hours: 14 hours a day, seven days per week
- Peak Times: Monday through Sunday, 4 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Flight Schedule: 2 to 4 flights per day; flexible scheduling due to flight departure times
Work Schedule
- Non-traditional shifts including weekends and holidays
- Specific shifts assigned post-training, with periodic adjustments based on operational needs
- Emergency personnel must report during inclement weather
Part-Time Positions
- Tour of Duty: 32 hours per week
- Shift Options: Five (5) days of eight (8) hours or four (4) days of eight (8) hours
- Unscheduled Overtime: Rarely occurs

Travel and Training Requirements
Employment with TSA is contingent upon completing required training. This may involve:
- Up to six (6) weeks of travel and full-time duty status for New Hire training
- Compensation for hours worked during training and reimbursement for authorized travel expenses
Dress Code
Uniforms are provided for TSOs, with restrictions on accessories and grooming during uniformed duty.
