Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Airport: Brunswick Golden Isles Airport (BQK), Brunswick, GA
• Operation Hours: Monday through Sunday: 4 a.m. – 6:30 p.m.
• Flight Schedule: Maintains a 14.5 hours a day, seven days per week.

Work Schedules

TSO work schedules are based on operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Limited flexibility is offered to accommodate personal commitments. TSA employees are considered emergency personnel and must report for duty during inclement weather.

• Tour of Duty: 20 hours per week
• Five (5) days of four (4) hours per day or four (4) days of five (5) hours per day
• Includes a split shift

Sign-On Bonus

This location is not offering a sign-on bonus at this time.

Promotional Potential

New officers have a path to reach up to a 67% increase from the starting base salary over 5 years.

Commuter Details

• Onsite parking available for TSA employees free of charge.
• Public transportation to the airport is not available.
• Subsidies for transportation are not offered at BQK.

Travel and Training Requirements

If hired, your employment is contingent upon successfully completing required training, which may involve a minimum of three (3) weeks of travel.

Dress Code

TSO uniforms are provided, with specific restrictions on accessories and grooming.
