Job Overview
If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Location: Capital Region International Airport, DeWitt, MI
- Flight Schedule: 16 hours a day, seven days per week
- Peak Times:
- Monday through Sunday: 5 a.m. – 7 a.m. & 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
- Working Environment: Screening operations are located inside the terminal and in a temperature-controlled environment.
Work Schedules
- Non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays may be required.
- Specific shifts assigned after training completion.
- TSA employees are considered emergency personnel and are expected to report for duty during inclement weather.
Part-Time Positions
- Tour of Duty: 25 hours per week
- Shifts: Five (5) days of five (5) to six (6) hours per day, with split shifts possibly included.

Travel and Training Requirements
Employment with TSA is contingent upon successfully completing required classroom and on-the-job training, which may require travel for a minimum of three (3) weeks in a full-time duty status.
