Position: Transportation Security Officer (TSO)

Thank you for your interest in employment with TSA. If selected, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission. This fact sheet highlights some unique operational requirements and compensation details.

Local Airport Details

• Location: Falls International Airport, International Falls, MN
• Maintains a 24-hour, seven days per week flight schedule
• Peak Times:
  • Monday through Sunday:
    • 5 a.m. – 7 a.m.
    • 11 a.m. – 1 p.m.
• Screening operations may or may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• TSO work schedules are based on operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Limited flexibility for personal commitments due to operational demands.
• Specific shifts will be assigned after training and may change according to operational needs.
• TSA employees are emergency personnel expected to report for duty during inclement weather.

Part-Time Opportunities Available:

• 20 hours per week
• Four (4) days of five (5) hours per day
• Current part-time shifts may include split shifts

Sign-On Bonus

TSA is currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 for this duty location; paid out in two installments during the first 12 months of service.

Promotional Potential

Under the career ladder for TSOs, new officers have the potential to achieve a salary increase of up to 67% over five years, plus additional federal pay increases.

Travel and Training Requirements

• Employment is contingent upon successful completion of required training
• A minimum of three (3) weeks of travel in full-time duty status may be required for training

Dress Code

TSO uniforms are provided, with specific restrictions on accessories and grooming while in uniform.
