Transportation Security Officer Job Overview
Thank you for your interest in a position with TSA. As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you'll support the Department of Homeland Security's mission. Below are operational requirements and compensation details.
Local Airport Details
- Location: Miami International Airport (MIA), Miami, FL
- Flight Schedule: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Peak Times:
- 5 a.m. – 8 a.m.
- 12 p.m. – 7 p.m.
- Screening Operations: Inside and outside the terminal; may not be temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
TSO schedules are based on airport needs, including non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Limited flexibility for personal commitments is available. Specific shifts will be assigned post-training and may be adjusted to meet operational demands.
Current Part-Time Positions:
- 16-32 hours per week
- Four (4) to five (5) workdays, 5-10 hours per day
- Shifts available: morning, afternoon, and evening, including weekends and holidays
