Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in employment with the TSA. If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

Aberdeen Regional Airport (ABR)
Aberdeen, SD

• Maintains a seven days per week flight schedule.
• Peak times are Sunday through Saturday:
• 3:45 a.m.- 7:45 a.m.
• 12 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
• Screening operations are located inside the terminal and may or may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

• TSO work schedules are based on the operational needs of the airport and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Specific shifts are assigned after new hires successfully complete their training and are subject to periodic adjustments.
• TSA employees are considered emergency personnel and are expected to report for duty during inclement weather.

Part-time positions available:
24-40 hours per week
Five (5) days of six (6) to eight (8) hours per day
Early morning and afternoon shifts available

Sign-On Bonus

The TSA is currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 for this duty location, paid out in two installments during the first 12 months of service.

Commuter Details

• Onsite parking is available for TSA employees at no charge.
• Public transportation to the airport is not available, and subsidies for transportation are not offered at ABR.
