Transportation Security Officer Job Overview
Thank you for your interest in employment with TSA. If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Location: Flagstaff Pulliam Airport, Flagstaff, AZ
- Flight Schedule: Seven days per week
- Hours of Operation: Sunday to Saturday, 5 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Screening Operations: Located inside the terminal; may not be temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
TSO work schedules are based on operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays. Due to the nature of the job, flexibility for personal commitments is limited.
- Part-Time Positions: 20-22 hours per week
- Shifts: Three (3) to four (4) workdays with six (6) to eight (8) hours per day. Morning, afternoon, evening hours may apply, with split shifts required.
Sign-On Bonus
TSA is offering a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 for this duty location, paid in two installments during the first 12 months of service. (Subject to change)

TSOs have a career ladder opportunity to achieve up to a 67% increase in base salary over 5 years, in addition to any federal-wide pay increases.
Travel and Training Requirements
Employment with TSA is contingent upon successfully completing required training, which may include up to six (6) weeks of full-time duty status travel away from the employee's airport.
