Transportation Security Officer Job Overview

Thank you for your interest in a career with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If selected for the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.

Local Airport Details

• Location: John Murtha Johnstown Cambria County Airport, Johnstown, PA
• Flight Schedule: 12 hours, seven days per week
• Peak Times: 5 a.m. – 5 p.m.
• Screening operations may not be temperature controlled.

Work Schedules

Part-Time Positions

• Current assessment for part-time positions (20 hours/week).
• Shift details: Four (4) days of five (5) hours; morning, afternoon, and evening shifts available.

Compensation and Benefits

Travel and Training Requirements

Employment contingent upon successful completion of required classroom and on-the-job training, including potential travel. Paid for all compensable hours and authorized travel expenses.

Dress Code

Uniforms provided with restrictions on accessories and grooming while in uniform.

Active Duty Military: Must be discharged or on terminal leave prior to employment.
