Transportation Security Officer Job Overview
Thank you for your interest in employment with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). If you successfully complete the Transportation Security Officer (TSO) candidate evaluation process and are selected for a position, you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Location: Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, Arlington, VA
- Schedule: Seven days per week, 3:30 a.m. to 12 a.m. daily
- Peak Times:
- Monday through Sunday:
- 5:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
- 12:30 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
- Screening operations located indoors, with temperature control varying by assignment.
Work Schedules
- Full-Time: 8 hours/day, 5 days per week between 3:30 a.m. – 11 p.m.
- Part-Time: 4-5 hours/day, 5 days per week between 3:30 a.m. – 11 p.m.
- Due to the nature of the job, virtually no flexibility is offered to accommodate personal commitments or schedules.
Sign-On Bonus
The Transportation Security Administration is currently offering a sign-on bonus of up to $2,000 for this duty location, paid out in two installments during the first 12 months of service.
