Job Overview
As a Transportation Security Officer (TSO), you will play a vital role in supporting the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) mission.
Local Airport Details
- Location: Southeast Iowa Regional Airport, Burlington, IA
- Schedule: 14-15 hour days, 7 days a week from 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Work Environment: Screening operations for passengers and baggage located inside the terminal; may not be temperature controlled.
Work Schedules
- TSO schedules are based on operational needs and may include non-traditional shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Very limited flexibility for personal commitments.
- Specific shifts assigned after training completion and are subject to adjustments.
Part-Time Availability
- A tour of duty of 25 hours/week with split shift scheduling including weekends and holidays.
Sign-On Bonus*
Up to $2,000 sign-on bonus for this location, paid in two installments during the first 12 months. (*Subject to change upon final job offer.)
Commuter Details
- Parking: Free onsite parking for TSA employees.
- Transport: Public transportation is not available; no transportation subsidies provided.

Travel and Training Requirements
Employment with TSA is contingent upon successfully completing required training, including up to three weeks of full-time duty status travel.
Dress Code
TSO uniforms will be provided; certain restrictions apply regarding accessories and grooming while in uniform.
